The small round caves measure 9.5 x 4 x 3 cm.

The average round caves measure 12 x 5 x 4 cm.

The large round caves measure 14.5 x 6.5 x 4.7 cm.

Very large round caves measure 19.5 x 7.8 x 6 cm.

These round breeding caves are handcrafted in our own workshop in the Netherlands. All CeramicNature breeding caves are made of ceramic that is safe for people, animals and the environment. The round caves are open at the front and closed at the back.

Tip pads

We recommend using the pads to set up the breeding caves. They are available in 3 sizes and in the colours terracotta red, brown and mixed. The pads can be used with small, medium and large caves.

Small: 14.5 x 12 x 5 cm – 2 caves below and 1 cave on top.

Medium: 22 x 12.5 cm – 3 caves below and 2 caves on top.

Large: 32 x 12.5 cm – 4 caves below and 3 caves on top.

Aquarium

Circular breeding caves are used to breed a variety of L-numbers (armoured catfish), serving as ideal hiding places for other catfish, crayfish, shrimp, loaches, etc. L-numbers use the breeding caves to lay their eggs, which are often guarded by the male until they hatch.

For breeding L-numbers we recommend using different shapes and sizes so that the fish can choose the one they prefer. In addition to round caves, we also offer rectangular, D-shaped, triangular, XXL, catfish caves and mixed color caves. L-numbers prefer caves that are not much bigger than themselves, so please take this into account when buying. Try to place the caves in different flow directions, the fish will appreciate this. If you do not keep fish, caves also serve as excellent hiding places for loaches, large crayfish, large shrimp, catfish, etc.

L-numbers

The small round cave is suitable for small L-numbers up to 10 cm, such as Ancistrus, L002, L015, L046, L104, L129, L340, L400, L411 etc. The small caves are also suitable for young L-numbers and small crayfish/shrimp.

The medium round cave is suitable for L numbers up to 12 cm, such as L046, L102, L129, L136, L144, L181, L199, L201, L236, L260, L262 and L397. L046 has been successfully bred by various breeders in our small and medium round caves. Additionally, they can be used as hiding places for crayfish, shrimp, catfish, etc.

Our large round cave is suitable for breeding L-numbers up to 16 cm, such as L066, L070, L144, L201, L204 and L333. The round caves have proven themselves many times for breeding the very difficult to breed L-numbers. Additionally, they can be used as hiding places for crayfish, shrimp, catfish, etc.

The extra large round cave is suitable for L-numbers up to 18 cm, such as L070 and L264.

Terrarium

Round breeding caves can also be used as hideouts for smaller reptiles and amphibians, such as frogs and small geckos. Because ceramic is porous, it absorbs moisture and heat, making it ideal as a humid or warm hideout.

Durable ceramics

Ceramics are 100% safe for humans, animals and the environment. The breeding caves have a long life and are handcrafted from ceramics. Since the color is baked into the clay, it will never fade. This makes the caves easy to clean with a soft sponge and warm water.
